Beans and his Wife recently had a night out at Alcumclow farm, Astbury – where they have a gin distillery called The Edge. They had tried the gin at the Alsager beer and gin festival where Tall Boy Radio had sponsored a barrel of Oakham’s Citra. The gin was absolutely the star of the show, hence why they chose to do the distillery tour… which for just £25 comprised of 3 double G&Ts, tasters of all the gins, neat, a quiz, the tour and a charcuterie board. The distillers, Claire and Mike put on a fantastic evening and were very engaging. We would whole-heartedly recommend you doing this if you’re in the area.
When we think of Gin, we always think of the Scottish Alchemist. Clare and Mike kindly donated us a bottle of gin to send up to them so that they could jump on the podcast and talk us through their opinion of this gin. Spoiler alert : They loved it.
